The Launch of CSI

We believe that well-being and mental health skills are human rights. We believe that to reach new levels of scientific excellence, development of mental health skills within our community is of monumental importance. We are starting a grassroots movement reaching across all of SciLifeLab in Sweden and the global scientific community; The Coaching in Science Initiative (CSI).

This initiative will facilitate a collective support system and learning opportunities regarding mental health and well-being. A way to systematically provide self-help and raise awareness for students and researchers during all stages in their academic journey - or future industry endeavors.

Topics will focusing on how to meet challenges such as: imposter syndrome, rejection in publishing, anxiety when presenting your work, worries about future career prospects, burnout and life/work harmony, stress reduction, building resistance to dejection and low mood, preserving well-being when research projects are challenging, building confidence in asking questions in meetings/presentations - any topic that the community requires.
