Imposter Syndrome is a common yet often overlooked challenge in academia, affecting scholars at every stage—from graduate students to senior faculty. Despite your accomplishments, do you often feel like you don't belong or fear being "exposed" as a fraud? In this seminar, we will examine what imposter syndrome is, when and why it manifests, and reflect on the deeper psychological and social factors that contribute to it. We will also provide practical strategies and tools to help you cope with these feelings of self-doubt, overcome perfectionism, and reclaim your confidence.

Tip: We warmly recommend our ETA-ladders page as inspiration to build your own personalized strategy to resolve imposter syndrome on different topics. We further recommend the following podcasts, which discusses imposter syndrome: The Homecoming Podcast, and The UNF*CK Your Brain Podcast. For more perspectives on Imposter Syndrome we also recommend the TEDx Talk by Valerie Young, and recorded speach by Reshma Saujani’s Smith.
